Before you shop know what you own. Go through your closet at the beginning of every season or before you head to the mall.

- 3. Buy items that fit your lifestyle. If you know you are going to live in your jeans then it is ok to spend $150 a pair especially if you had to try on dozens to find the perfect fit. Buy clothes to suit YOUR lifestyle.
- 4. Spend money on staple items: on shoes, bags, a cashmere sweater, a black pair of pants and skimp on belts, socks, trendy jewelry, scarves, hats and sunglasses.
- 5. Purchase well fit, quality undergarments - they can make everything you wear look better.
