I love these two colors together. It's like mixing old with new, winter with spring, gloom with sunshine. Did you know that yellow is associated with logical and intellectual thinking? It also stimulates curiosity and interest. Why not throw on a little yellow sunshine with your grey to shake things up a bit.

I needed some retail therapy over the weekend, so I decided to cruise the net to see what fabulous handbags I could explore. Since it's the holiday season and I can not spend on myself (trying anyway), all I could do was browse. But look at the beauties I found! Enjoy :))

I'm a Black Girl that Rocks!

This past Sunday was an extraordinary day, one filled with emotion, thoughts and pride. Like so many, I went to see Tyler Perry's production of For Colored Girls and I have not been able to get the thought provoking images and dialog out of my mind. That cast was without a doubt some of the most talented and seasoned actresses in the industry. That evening I watched some of the most amazing women of color being recognized for their outstanding work in advancing in our culture on the special Black Girls Rock. From KeKe Palmer to the amazing Ruby Dee, I was inspired, humbled and proud of their work and what they are bringing to the table. KeKe said she tells young girls "I know that I am special and you are too, you just don't know it yet." Ruby Dee said "As human beings, we are supposed to make things better, clear the path for those that come after us...I am not who I am supposed to be, I am still becoming." Then to hear the melodic voices of Kelly Price, Marcia Ambrosius, Jill Scott and Ledisi sing the Nina Simone's classic Four Women was just AAAMAAZZING! 

To witness the raw emotion and issues that many of us face or know someone who has in the movie then to see these amazing women doing triumphant things to encourage and motivate our spirits all in one day was emotional and thought provoking. I won't spoil the movie by telling what it's about because I know that many of you have not seen it, but I will say that not only did I identify with pieces of every woman portrayed in the film but I feel so much stronger because I still smile and persevere through all my trials and valleys. And I don't need to wait for anyone to see or tell me that I AM A BLACK GIRL THAT ROCKS!

Big or Small, its all in how you enhance it.

Hey Everyone!


I had a very interesting conversation yesterday with some great ladies via Blackberry Messenger. The topic was which do men prefer most: a nice rack or a nice backside. I being petite, have neither but that's nothing a great pair of jeans and push up's from Victoria's Secret can't fix, ha ha! We never really got around to saying which men actually prefer but we had a great and comical time telling our stories of what brings men to our "yards", lol. 


After the conversation, I got to thinking that as women there is always something that we wish we could change or add to our physical selves. The key is to work with what you have been blessed with and enhance those features. But don't, I repeat, DON'T go to the extreme of letting all your goodies hang out for all to see! Nothing is worse than seeing a beautiful woman with what looks to be a 6 yr old's shirt and pants set (WRONG, FAIL!)  Enhance is the key word! 


Be Bold, Be Confident and Be You...in doing so, you'll always Be Candy Coated!
